Hawks vs Swans
On the eve of the Swans v Hawks grand final rematch in Sydney we held our second Grassroots Sports Club Sydney lunch at the magnificent Ivy Ballroom. What a day!
Attended by 220 guests Dippa kept everyone entertained (mainly talking about himself) and ensured we raised much needed funds running the table draw, auction and raffle like an old pro. Highlights included Nick Davis run down of his current role as Buddy Franklin's goal kicking coach, Chris Langford and Dippa going head to head over their recollections of Hawthorns golden era in the 1980’s and Sydney superstar Michael O’Loughlin speaking about his journey to 300 games and the AFL hall of fame. On the day we also spotted Ben Buckley, Peter Hudson and Barry Breen in the crowd. There was at least 15 AFL premierships in the room on the day and $55,900 is a huge result
Organised in close collaboration with the Jane Sheldon and Mirabel foundation all funds raised go directly to the Mirabel foundation to assist disadvantaged children access sport and recreation. A big thank you to Jane and all of the corporate sponsors.
